Fishing – Wykeham Lakes – Coarse Angling

Fishing on the Match LakeWykeham Lakes offer three coarse fishing lakes which allow the angler to fish for a variety of coarse fish, including Carp, Tench, Crucian's, Roach, Perch, Chub, Bream, Rudd, Eels and Pike. Day tickets and Season tickets are available for the individual and for competitive groups.

Carp Lake

This beautiful lake of approximetely two acres offering 28 pegs with an average depth of 8 feet. This lake is perfect for the angler who seeks an action packed day with fish coming thick and fast. This lake allows several different methods to be employed such as float, feeder and pole fishing.

The Carp LakeThe water is stocked with Carp, Crucian’s, Roach, Rudd, Bream and Tench.

This lake is ideally suited to the pleasure or junior angler, being located within easy reach of the fishing lodge where tackle, bait and advice is available. Anglers should consider a minimum line strength of 4 lbs.

Hooks must be barbless and anglers should expect to need plenty of bait.


Match Lake

A view of the Match LakeThe match lake is a purpose built water with a uniform bank and an average depth of 6 feet, offering 52 pegs. The water was specifically built to provide a uniform water where the skill of the individual is paramount.

Each platform has an identical weed free area, with lily pads and rushes to left and right.
Restocking 2007
The lake has recently been re-stocked with over 2,000lbs of Carp, (both commons and mirrors), Roach, Rudd and Bream. Matches are regularly held midweek and weekends. Contact the Manager for further details



The Winter Lake

The Winter LakeThe lake is big, at 9 acres plus, deep in places with depths to around 33 feet. It provides the perfect setting for the angler who is prepared to stalk the big fish. The banks offer plenty of space for anglers wishing to use more than one rod or erect a bivvy.
A great winter Pike!
The water has produced pike to over 33 lbs and Carp to well over 20 lbs. In addition there are Tench, Roach, Rudd and Chub to specimen siizes. Anglers are advised to use a minimum line strength for pike and carp of 10lbs. Barbless hooks and large landing nets, (minimum 36 inch) are required, along with unhooking mats.
