Trout Lake

The trout lake has been stocked with rainbow and brown trout since 1992. The water, which is of exceptional clarity, runs to a depth of 27 feet. The 7.5 acres of water gives plenty of elbow room, with both natural and artificial platforms with some areas suitable for wading and access for anglers with disablilities. Up to six boats are available for hire.

The lake is regularly stocked with top quality trout from 2½ lbs to well into double figures, and grow considerably with the recent record of 17¾ lbs. For an experienced angler imitative patterns such as buzzers or nymphs are well worth a try, whilst for the novice, a small lure or damsel are usually effective.

This water is immediately adjacent to the lodge and close to the main car park.

Causeway Lake

This secluded lake extends to just over nine acres and is probably one of the most scenic waters in the area being completely surrounded by woodland. The lake offers approximately 1½ miles of meandering bank space, with a series of bays and promontories which allow for the discerning fly fisherman to explore all the water from the bankside.

The lake has depths of water to around 15 feet close to the bank, making long casting unnecessary. The Causeway Lake is well stocked with quality rainbow, brown and blue trout from 1½ to 10lbs
