Getting married and don't need another toaster or set of towels? Or perhaps you are looking for a special gift for a friend, relative or colleague?
These days people have usually had a house for a while before they get married and so don’t need to be given utensils and cutlery, but whether or not they are keen gardeners they may want to improve their garden. As well as weddings, gift services are available for other gifts or occasions, such as birthdays or retirement. Therefore, to compliment our rental service for weddings and events, and as part of our design and planting services, we offer a gift service:
- Gift vouchers
- Delivery, and planting if required, of the item(s) of your choice
- Full "gift list" service
If you opt for the full gift list service to create a beautiful, bespoke garden makeover, whether it may be for a whole garden or just simply for a particular problem area, we will visit you for a consultation to get a feel for your site and for you to tell us about the kind of garden you dream of. We will then produce a planting plan for you so that the list of plants and materials needed for the makeover will then be used like a familiar gift-list service towards which your guests and well-wishers can contact us to contribute. They could either choose a specific plant from the list or give a donation towards the project as a whole, thereby giving towards the garden that will give you pleasure for years to come. What's more, if you choose the full planting service, you can return home from your honeymoon to a new garden, "gift wrapped" with messages from your guests and well wishers.
Previous recipients of the planting service, Mr and Mrs Raper of Filey, originally contacted staff at Wykeham to rent plants for their wedding reception, but after a walk round the nursery the idea of a new garden as well was too good an opportunity to miss. “The difference from a single morning’s work was amazing. The transformation from a blank yard to a garden that we love has been fantastic; we have since added a conservatory and decking so that we can spend as much time as possible in it. They really listened to what we wanted, choosing the right mix of colours and sizes of plants for the planting plan – it’s the best wedding present we could have asked for.”
Planted in a single morning, then revisited the following year.
