Photinia Red Robin - Bush
Photinia Red Robin - BushA large, vigorous, evergreen shrub, with leathery glossy-green leaves, which are brilliant red when young. A fairly open habit, becoming much denser with repeated clipping. Provides a colourfull evergreen hedge. Prefers a relatively sheltered site.
A very versatile evergreen plant with red young foliage with 2 to 3 flushes a year. This can either be grown as a versatile shrub or with a good trim twice a year it makes an excellent hedge. For best results, prune and feed regularly. If grown in a warm position (and only after a mild winter in the north of England), masses of flat panicles of white flowers may be produced in early summer. Will tolerate quite alkaline soils if well fed and/or if plenty of organic matter is added.
Available as bushes 80cm to 250cm tall in a range of container sizes.
