A lively little crabapple whose white, strongly scented flowers emerge from a profusion of dark pink buds just as the light green foliage is unfolding. By autumn the blossom has given way to a heavy crop of jolly scarlet fruits, more berry than apple sized, and persist well into the winter after the leaves have fallen. Does well in urban areas and exposed sites and is hardy.
