Dark-leafed Japanese Maple with a strong yet shapely growth habit/shape. More robust than the more finely cut-leaf varieties, Bloodgood will tolerate most gardens on neutral to acid soils (or in a large pot) if given shelter from strong winds and the midday sun.
Rich burgundy leaves, turning to a more vivid claret in autumn.
Ideally, plant in partial shade, sheltered from strong winds, on a rich soil.
