Mahonia japonica Bealei
Medium-sized evergreen shrub with pinnate dark-green to blue-green leaves, divided into broad-based often overlapping, sharply toothed leaflets. Fragrant lemon-yellow flowers on racemes (shorter than the species) in late winter and early spring. Ideal for growing under large trees as very tolerant of shade and root competition.
A nice low growing shrub with structural leaves and beautifully scented yellow flowers in winter. This plant performs best in shade and will even grow in deep shade.
Available as bushes 50cm to 100cm tall.
