Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Silver Queen' has rounded, silver-green leaves with a creamy-white leaf margin and has small, fragrant purple flowers in spring. Commonly grown as a decorative evergreen shrub it can also be used for hedging.
Pittosporum 'Silver Queen' is tolerant of coastal conditions and is easy to grow in fertile, moist but well-drained, soil of any type except clay which is too heavy. This shrub is considered hardy but may need protection in cooler or more exposed areas, especially from cold, drying winds. To achieve the best leaf effect, plant Pittosporum in full sun in a fairly sheltered location.
