Spotted laurel (Aucuba japonica ‘Crotonifolia’) is an evergreen plant with glossy, thick, dark green foliage with distinctive yellow spots and large red berries from late summer to early spring, and small maroon flowers in spring. It grows well in most soil conditions except wet sites and is especially useful in shaded positions.
