Apple James Grieve
Apple James GrieveJames Grieve is a justifiably popular dual-purpose apple variety, raised in Scotland at the end of the 19th century. It is a mid-season variety that is picked in early-mid September. At this stage it is pleasantly acidic and refreshing but after a few weeks the flavour sweetens and becomes quite mild. The texture does not break up if cooked. All our apples are grown on a vigorous root stock to make large fruit trees as seen in many old orchards.
All our apples are grown on a vigorous root stock to make traditional large trees. As well as being a fantastic variety in its own right, James Grieve also makes a strong pollinator for many other varieties.
Usually available from 10cm to 14cm girth.
